The Expanded Role of a Software as a Service Provider
The Widen Appliance is a hardware / software combination residing at the customer location that is controlled, maintained, owned, and upgraded by Widen Enterprises. The Appliance is used in conjunction with the Widen Collective, the hosted, web-based digital asset management service, to provide different geographic locations with the same digital assets.
This site replication allows for the following key benefits:
- Internal employees access digital assets using local area network speeds to quickly find and use desired material.
- Ability to integrate with creative applications, like Adobe® CS3, allows designers to use digital assets without leaving their desktop applications.
- External affiliates access digital assets from hosted service located in Madison, WI.
- Widen's infrastructure and security shelters organizations from external threats and accommodates for exponential growth requirements.
- Replication of digital assets in different geographic locations adheres to disaster recovery policies and provides hot-site backups.
