Vail Resorts Selects Widen for Video Asset Management
Vail Resorts selected Madison based Widen Enterprises to host, convert and deliver its extensive library of marketing videos, commercials, weather reports and other collateral. Widen's video handling capacity will allow Vail to upload video in standard, or high definition format. The software as a service (SaaS) applications of Widen will provide Vail video editors the ability to upload videos from any of five different locations to their central database.
Widen's video asset management system will allow Vail to store all of their videos in one, high resolution format while presenting the capability to convert from that one, broadcast quality video, to any other formats such as Windows Media, Flash or QuickTime. All conversions are done on the fly as each video download is processed.

Widen's ability to handle video files, their established presence in the industry, and their future plans, clearly made them the best fit to manage our rapidly growing number of video files. The relationship will enable increased and more efficient communication with TV networks that broadcast our footage, such as The Travel Channel, The Weather Channel, CNN, MSNBC, and many more."
