Are you paying for what you get or what you want?

More times than not, price of a digital asset management solution is the most influential criterion, putting it in front of functionality, integration and service. Sticker shock of DAM systems is common and many gravitate towards systems that only handle a few needs and requirements because they fit better into the budget.  Other times, customers believe that the higher the price they pay, the better the solution must be, which is covered in greater detail in the post DAM is Not a Commodity

    • What is the pricing model? Is it a single purchase price up front (typically installed DAM solutions) or is it based on a reoccurring subscription (typically SaaS DAM solutions)?


    • What is the price based upon? (Number of user licenses, storage capacity, bandwidth used, etc.)


    • Will you be charged extra if you have more users than what is in the pricing model? How much?


    • Will you be charged extra if you use more storage than what is in the pricing model? How much?


    • Will you be charged extra if you use more bandwidth than what is in the pricing model? How much?


    • Does the pricing model include all of the options you need or just some?


    • Are additional options in an à la carte model or bundled?


    • Is the price locked in for a set period of time?


    • If subscription-based, what’s the cost of ending the DAM service?


    • What are the methods of invoicing and payments?


  • Are you locked in to a long-term contract?
