Do you remember a few years back when you could only access your email through a computer?  I remember frequently going to a computer so I could check to see if I had any new emails.  Sometimes it became frustrating, trying to find a computer, then waiting till you received that email you were waiting for, or forgetting what you had wanted to send to someone, when you finally got to a computer.   Needless to say, if you have a smart phone or PDA, you know you can do anything with your email wherever you are.  No more waiting unitl you got to a computer to do that.

This is similar to the DAM SaaS model.  You don’t have to be at your company location to access your digital media.  As long as you have a computer with an internet connection, or even a smart phone, you can access your digital assets wherever you are.   You can safely work from home or on the road, and still have access to all of the files you would have while at work.
