When Boise Cascade — an engineered wood products provider and nationwide building materials distributor — launched a Widen-powered “Resource Library” module for its customers to access webinar recordings, product videos, how-to guides and other media as part of its new BC Connect system, the company decided to let its existing and prospective customers know about it with a national print media campaign.
“Since many of our software users were younger, more tech-savvy individuals, we decided to include a QR code in every print ad, which would link to an informational video,” said Dan Carter, manager of design and processing systems at Boise Cascade Engineered Wood Products. “This would provide the reader with instant access to additional information about our new software products.”
“We’re continually advancing our rich media feature. So we’re very excited to have tech savvy and innovative customers, like Boise Cascade, that build new and creative campaigns based on our newest features like mobile-friendly video embed codes” said Al Falaschi, Widen’s audio and video product manager. “We build these cool systems so our users can do even cooler things with them to advance their brands.”
Because the Widen Media Collective video player is HTML5-friendly, readers of the tens of thousands of publications that reached readers with ads promoting BC Connect could interact with the ad and watch videos right on their iOS, Android, and other devices. Widen technology, together with our unrivaled dedication to customer service, helped make this innovative Boise Cascade campaign a reality.
“It affirms our decision to use Widen as the platform for the Boise Cascade Resource Library,” Carter said.
