Managing Expectations with DAM at HSM

This is the ninth video in the series of Widen customer interviews with Augusto Rovegno, Business Development & Programming Manager, at HSM – organizer of the World Business Forum and World Innovation Forum. In this video, Augusto talks about managing expectations with their digital asset management system deployment. Augusto talks about there being two turning points. One was when they started talking about the time frames, they got the feeling that when he was told Widen was going to help them meet them, it was truthful, not just saying it and then expecting there was going to be chaos behind it. Augusto goes on to explain how they had discussed the different implications of the project and were given the confidence to understand it was going to be done in the desired time-frame.

The second turning point in managing expectations with DAM at HSM was with the replies to the questions they had and ways of accommodating the complex needs that they had. Augusto explains there were some things they had questions about and when they picked up the phone and said, "Listen, this is something new that we didn't have in mind." He explains the Widen response wasn't, "Yeah we can do it!" or "No we can't!" But instead, let’s see how we can do it and then ended up finding the solution to how to meet those needs. That kind of confidence was very important for HSM in the time of making a decision and going into the implementation. A big part of managing expectations with DAM at HSM was to be very clear in the needs, options, time-lines and goals of the project.
