Marketing New Orleans got a little Big Easy-er thanks to Widen digital asset management

At Widen, we like to think of ourselves as problem solvers. Talk to our customers and you might find they see us the same way. After all, most of them came to us with similar digital media workflow problems that needed solving.

“Before Widen, a lot of our images were stored on our local server and we had a hard time distributing those to other folks. We would FTP them up to our website or use products like DropBox or other things like that to try to get images and other assets to folks,” said Jean Paul Gisclair, online manager at the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation.

Among other things, the destination marketing group was also looking for a way to improve these workflows and become more responsive to requests from its New York ad agency. Gisclair, with his background as a programmer and designer, was especially knowledgeable and had a good sense of what to look for in the digital asset management software that would solve his organization’s problems. After evaluating a few systems, he found Widen to be the best fit.

“We really felt that Widen was the best choice because it gave us the advanced search capabilities that we were looking for. We liked the ability for DAM to convert images on the fly, not using extra storage,” Gisclair said. “The way that it worked with roles and the filtering capabilities we thought were a little better than some of the other products we were looking at.”

In the end, the success of the Widen digital asset management system will be measured not by where New Orleans Tourism has been, but by where it goes now that Media Collective is in its toolkit. We have a pretty good track record, though, with lots of customers from all kinds of industries who started out facing similar challenges.
