Widen gives thanks

by Jake Athey, November 22, 2017

How often do you take time in your day to be thankful? Or make an effort to express gratitude? When there’s a long list of to-dos, for work and personal life, it can be a challenge. That’s why I wanted to ask my fellow Wideneers what they were thankful for during the week of the US Holiday, Thanksgiving Day.

"I'm thankful that I've found a place to work that brings me immense joy and satisfaction. Everyone at the company is phenomenal at their job while retaining the camaraderie and kindness that makes Widen, well Widen." - Kevin Brinnehl

"I'm thankful for our customers who allowed our Widen teams to spend time with them at their offices with their teams. We were at 32 different customer locations in the past year. The knowledge that we have gained is transforming how our teams are developing solutions. We would not be able to create these products without our customers’ willingness to share their time." - Deanna Ballew

"I'm thankful that when I walk into the office in the morning and say, 'Good morning, team!' everyone looks up and they say, 'Good morning, Mel!' Also, I'm thankful that our company gives back to our community consistently through service projects. I love having opportunities to give to others through my job!" - Melanie Olsen

"I am thankful for inspiring co-workers! I get to sit with people every day who are creative, passionate, talented, and kind." - Leah Ujda

"Working at Widen, I'm thankful for a down-to-earth atmosphere that allows the freedom of dressing comfortably and putting family first with a flexible work/remote schedule. I'm thankful for an energetic and creatively collaborative team that is the CXM Team as well as empathetic and trailblazing leaders in both Dustin and Matthew and the rest of the leadership team. The open door policy for ideas and feedback from the VP of Product to the help desk is both unique and ground-breaking. I'm thankful to be apart of such a smart, dynamic, and accepting workplace. Last but not least, I'm thankful for the in-house keg of beer even if Jesse Widen rigs the brew choice each quarter." - Mandy Wagner

"I'm thankful for the openness of our team to explore new ideas and always have each other's backs!" - Nina Brakel-Schutt

"I'm thankful for co-workers who meditate each week. Widen provides the room, the teacher, and the flexibility. My co-workers and I accept this time for ourselves each week. By providing the space and time, Widen shows us that it's desired that employees take time during the workday for themselves to refresh and take a break."  - Lexy Spry

"I'm thankful for fantastic co-workers and a great office culture. I'm also thankful for the daily opportunity to make other people's workday easier!" - James Wanke

"I’m thankful for our remarkable teams that not only support each other but are entirely focused on being customer-centric." - David Lao

"I'm thankful for my co-workers and their investment in their work and the people around them. I'm also thankful for our office coffee. It's delicious." - Nate Holmes

As for me, I’m thankful for our incredible community of 3,000 admins and hundreds of thousands of users across 600 customers. I’m thankful for our teams that are dedicated to serving those customers. And I’m thankful for all that hard work that’s led to us winning a CODiE Award for best DAM system, being named to Madison Magazine’s The 2017 Best Places to Work, and continuing our certification of being on The WorldBlu List of Freedom-Centered Workplaces.

What are you thankful for?
