We have exciting customer news to share!
An interdepartmental team of media professionals at Brown University won the 2014 Brown Excellence Award for Innovation for their implementation of The Brown Image Gallery, which is powered by the Widen Media Collective. It serves as a central place for public affairs, and other offices around campus to post images for campus use.
Prior to creating The Brown Image Gallery, assets were scattered in different places in different formats and were very difficult to find. In an attempt to get a handle on Brown’s visual identity, the staff took on the project of implementing the Widen digital asset management solution. They recognized the problem with managing their assets and worked with Widen’s advisor and support teams to setup and launch The Brown Image Gallery. They were also helpful in developing Widen’s Drupal plugin. The Drupal plugin allows Brown’s webmasters to have access to assets from within the Drupal user interface.
The award highlights innovators that envisioned and implemented novel ideas and new methods that effect powerful change. We believe that DAM can affect powerful change in the way an organization grabs a hold of their digital identity and then projects it forward with complete control and transparency of usage data. We know it, and now it seems as though the board of regents at Brown have also taken notice.
We’d like to congratulate our admins on the fantastic work they have done in not only creating the Brown Image Gallery, but also promoting its usage throughout Brown’s entire system.
