Quick View Updates
User-inspired changes are the theme for the Media Collective v8.1 release. First up, you’ll see a new way to edit assets. As a result of research and feedback, our team has enhanced asset zooming and editing within Quick View. This gives users an easier way to access their asset’s data and stay within search results or the Dashboard. No need to wait for a page to load, just click edit and save.
White and transparent logos have a new friend in search results with the checkered background. We took a cue from other popular creative software and added this background to increase visibility. Collective users can now easily scan their results and identify assets with these attributes.
Additionally, we added a File is Processing placeholder to our preview suite. This gives you real-time information about what stage your asset is in in the upload process.
“Email is so 2014.” We hear you loud and clear! We’ve added an in-product messaging feature known as Topline so you can learn about site outages and release information within your site! Look for these messages to periodically prompt you about important information. Keep them active as a reminder or dismiss them after you read. P.S. You’ll still continue to receive our email notifications as a backup.
8.1 brings new support to maximize your return on video assets through their lifecycle.
Video Metadata Mapping. Now you can import metadata embedded in video files to custom metadata fields at upload time. These mappings ease the burden on administrators and put video assets in users’ hands quicker!
Dynamic Video Streaming. With new streaming technology, we will optimize video delivery from your Collective site based on the viewer’s available bandwidth. Whether your connection is on the high or low end, this streaming technology dynamically adjusts video delivery behind the scenes for a smooth viewing experience. Everyone wins! The result is a superior-quality experience for videos served from Collective sites and embedded on web pages.
View Demographic Insights with Google Analytics
Google Analytics will now report Demographics and Interest data to give you age, gender and affinity categories about your users. These are the same demographics & interest categories used to target ads on the Google Display Network.
You can prepare Google Analytics to start reporting this data by turning on Advertising Features in your Property Settings.
