Henry Stewart Events will be holding a DAM conference in Los Angeles next week (Nov. 14-15). DAM LA is being sponsored in part by Widen Enterprises. We'll be in town and doing some "live tweeting" to make sure you don't have to miss out on the event's highlights if you're not able to make it to LA for the event.
Be sure to follow @WidenEnterprise for those updates. We’ll also post the best stuff on this blog some time after the event.
If you can make it, be sure to find Widen people, as we'll have some handy booklets packed with resources and links (and QR codes, if you're into that sort of thing) that will help you get started either narrowing your search for a DAM vendor or optimizing your use of your current system.
Conferences like this one are great for picking up valuable information. Some of the benefits of going to these include:
- Learning about innovations – Lots of DAM software developments are announced (or at least showcased) at these events. You can use this information to your advantage when searching for DAM software solutions.
- Building your base of knowledge – No matter how well versed you are in the field of digital asset management, you'll probably never be an "expert"; these things move faster than anyone can keep up, so you know there will always be something to learn. Ask the experts those burning questions at these events and they become all the better as learning experiences.
- Connect with DAM changemakers – Events like these often have heavy social components. Capitalize on these by engaging with industry leaders to get advice on streamlining your processes and gain insights into the future of DAM and how you can avoid being left behind.
Some special notes on the event:
Widen Customer, Lance White of Corinthian Colleges Inc. will be speaking on a panel titled "Lessons learned from our Procurement and Implementation Process" at 4:10 on Day 1 of the conference.
The event will be followed by post-conference tutorials, led by Theresa Regli of The Real Story Group, on "Fundamentals of DAM: The Technology In-Depth" and metadata sessions by John Horodyski of DAM Education on "Fundamentals of Metadata for DAM Professionals" and "Advanced Metadata Practices for DAM".
