This is the sixth video in the series of Widen customer interviews with Augusto Rovegno, Business Development & Programming Manager, at HSM – organizer of the World Business Forum and World Innovation Forum. In this video, Augusto talks about the value of SaaS DAM emerging as the answer for HSM after looking at the different alternatives including buying an installed DAM product and developing their own solution from scratch.
One of the main problems for HSM was the rapid deployment timeline they were facing, which ruled out all other alternatives. Moreover, SaaS DAM presented HSM with greater benefits of future flexibility and scalability over developing a solution on their own or going with an installed DAM product. As a bonus, Augusto confirms the help desk for Widen SaaS DAM would provide a stronger benefit to the users than alternatives.
Augusto goes on to explain the possibility of installing or building a product. Installing DAM software on their servers was again more complex that what they could handle in the time-frame they needed to be up and running and functioning properly. Additionally, the cost advantages for SaaS vs. installed were weighed heavily and so they determined they didn't want to buy or lease any hardware. Augusto talks about how they believe in the cloud computing model and didn't want to have big capital expenditures. Again, costs were another driver for HSM’s decision to go with a SaaS DAM solution.
